Getting around in a City
Taxis are a convenient means of transportation
in various cities in China, with fares ranging
from 1 to 3 Yuan per Km. Simply raise your hand,
and a taxi appears in no time. But you'd
better choose a taxi with a business permit, and
before you disembark a taxi ride, ask the drive
for a receipt.
Subways are another convenient means of transportation
for those travelling in downtown. So far subways
are available in the main Chinese cities, including
Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Xi'an,
Tianjin, Nanjing, Dalian, Chonqing, Wuhan, Chengdu,
Hangzhou, and Hong Kong.
Almost each Chinese city has formed its public
transport network in urban area. It is an economical,
convenient way of travel by taking bus. Just remember
that you should make sure the bus routes in advance.
